Welcome to Specific Wellness!
Upon entering our building you will experience a flash back with our retro colored waiting area. We share the space with two wonderful pain management and rehab doctors and a charismatic dentist.
Mosey on over to our suite, number 105, and get greeted with a beautiful smile from our office manager, Hind. If she is tending to other needs in our office please feel comfortable ringing the bell on our window to let us know that you have arrived. Hind will either provide you with new patient forms or gather the ones you have completed from off our website.
Once you are called back you will go over your paperwork with Dr. Stacey. She will go over your history, ask questions about your current health issue and review any lab work that you have brought with you. This is why our new patient appointment is allotted up to forty minutes. You may not need that long, but then again you might. Follow up visits are up to twenty minutes and can be at the Southfield office or at one of our Bloomfield Hills satellite offices on Thursdays.
Next, Dr. Stacey will have you lie on the treatment table and do a thorough kinesiologic exam. This is an enlightening experience as you attempt to resist manual pressure with each of your main muscles and find you either can or cannot resist. It’s like a complicated “Simon Says” game. This information allows the doctor to determine muscle and structural imbalances that are contributing to your condition. This also guides her to know specifically which vertebrae to adjust, a very different concept from the chiropractors who give general area adjustments. It also keeps her from taking unnecessary x-rays.
If you are in need of a chiropractic adjustment, no worries! Dr. Stacey caters to cowards:) She has 20+ years experience in adjusting and if you like to hear the cracking sound, you won’t be disappointed. But if you shudder at the sound or are severely osteoporotic she has a device called an Arthrostim that allows her to adjust without the cracking sound. Keep in mind that that is not what makes for a successful and effective adjustment. If your previously weak muscles have regained their strength both the doctor and you know that you are adjusted adequately.
If you are coming in for nutrition, you may be muscle tested to determine food/chemical sensitivities or a need for supplements. You may also get a desensitization treatment. This does not mean that you will get an adjustment.
At the completion of the visit you will be clear on the next steps necessary to treat your condition. You are always welcome to email us at info@specificwellness.com to clarify anything that needs clarifying.
We hope you have a wonderful visit, and if you did, please tell everyone you know.
An outstanding share! I have just forwarded this onto a co-worker who was doing a little research on this.
And he in fact bought me dinner due to the fact that I stumbled upon it for him…
lol. So let me reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending some time to talk about
this subject here on your web page.
We absolutely love your blog and find nearly all of your post’s
to be just what I’m looking for. can you offer guest
writers to write content for yourself? I wouldn’t mind creating
a post or elaborating on a few of the subjects you write related to here.
Again, awesome web site!
