If you are worried about heart disease you need to worry about oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is what makes LDL cholesterol sticky and sticky LDL cholesterol can cause blockage of your arteries.
There is a test that allows you to determine the level of stress on your body caused by oxidative stress, or free radical activity, and it only takes five minutes. Adequate antioxidant intake from fruit, vegetables, and nutritional supplements combat oxidative stress. It’s important to know if you are getting enough antioxidants in your diet and that the nutritional supplements you are taking are effectively counteracting free radical cell damage.
A simple urine test that you can do in our office or in the comfort of your home helps determine the amount of oxidative activity in your body and can be helpful in making appropriate lifestyle and dietary changes.
The Dangers of Abundant Free Radicals
Too many free radicals over a period of time lead to chronic diseases, cell damage, and faster aging.
Causes of free radical damage
- Heavy metals and petrochemicals in the environment and in our foods
- Over-the-counter and prescription drugs
- Cooked oils and fats
- Radiation
- Viruses, yeast, and bacteria in the system
- Low dietary anti-oxidants
- Mental/emotional stress
It’s vital to know about free radicals and the importance of antioxidants in the diet. This test enables us to measure the amount of oxidative stress the body is enduring and the results of antioxidant intervention.
Many, if not all, diseases damage the body through oxidative damage. It is also the primary cause of aging.
Free radicals are a natural byproduct of many biochemical processes. It is only when free radicals become unbound and abundant where they start attacking normal, healthy tissue that disease takes place. This happens when antioxidant activity is inadequate.
Discover Your Need for Antioxidants
This test, called the Oxidata Test, is the world’s first and only non-invasive urine test that measures the amount of free radicals or oxidants in the body within five minutes with an advanced patented technology. This urine test provides higher accuracy than an MDA (malondialdehyde) blood test. Accuracy is within the range of 90%.
The Instructions are Simple
The day before you use the test, do not take supplemental vitamins, such as vitamin C, vitamin B complex, or vitamin B-1 (thiamine), vitamin B-2 (riboflavin), vitamin B-3 (niacin, also known as pyridoxamine). Any oral intake of vitamins or medication that turns your urine to an excessively yellow color (Riboflavin) may interfere with your ability to interpret the reading of your value.
What’s the Plan?
If your test shows that you are in the high free radical range, we will discuss how to increase antioxidants and decrease free radicals or oxidative stress to protect against free radical damage. Additionally, I will muscle test you for the appropriate antioxidant supplementation and dosage. We can retest twice a month until the free radical activity has been reduced.
