From neck pain to shoulder pain to low back pain, when I was an associate with the dearly loved Dr. Rob Radtke, I noticed that there was one adjustment that patients favored over all others. It was called the hidden cervical disc technique.
Weak Fibers
Dr. Radtke worked closely with the founder of Applied Kinesiology, Dr. George Goodheart. Dr. Goodheart taught that many muscular-skeletal and nervous system issues could be caused by a weakness in the fibers that make up the outside of the spinal discs that reside between the vertebral bones of the spine. This weakening of the fibers can cause the disc to bulge slightly. It is not as severe as a true disc herniation that can be diagnosed with imaging. This technique can alleviate many symptoms associated with a slight bulge.
A Neck Adjustment Unlike All Others
Even my patients who choose to not have the traditional neck adjustment often allow me to do this procedure because of the difference they have found in how their body functions is remarkable following this technique. If you are not familiar, it is where I have you bring your teeth together (we don’t want to catch your tongue between your teeth) as I hold your head at the jaw and back of your head. I give a quick small pull. Sometimes you will feel movement in your neck and other times you will feel it in your lower back or any place in between. There are other times you may barely feel it at all. It just depends on where the issue is.
Back Where it Belongs
This technique allows for negative pressure to pull fluids that have been lost, back into the disc so you have nice fluffy and supportive discs and not squashed grapes. It is even safe for children.
I shouldn’t need to say this but, never do this technique unless you have been well trained. Leave it to me, I’ve got your back. Make an appointment.

Funny, I just had this done last Sunday! Definitely helped me not feel so compressed.
